You're building up kinetic energy as that bar comes down, you're getting tighter and tighter and tighter and tighter. That spring is getting wound up so that when you release it, all that kinetic energy goes at one time, becomes a powder keg, EXPLODES, the bar shoots off your chest then your elbows flare.
